- PES (polyethersulfone) – Lowest protein binding and extractables, fast flow rates; best choice for media
- SFCA (surfactant-free cellulose acetate) – Low protein binding, lower extractables than standard CA; useful for cell culture fluids and cellular solutions
- CA (cellulose acetate) – Some protein binding and extractables; good for buffers
- Nylon – Low extractables, high protein binding; recommended for alcohols and weak solvents
